Angela Evelyn Bassett, an American actress is well known for her roles in film and on television since the mid 1980s. She has received various accolades including the Golden Globe Award, and sixteen NAACP Image Awards. In the film and television industry, she's known for her many awards and nominations. Bassett, who was raised in Winston-Salem North Carolina by her aunt following her birth in New York New York, is a well-known actress. Bassett as well as her mother and sister relocated to St. Petersburg Florida when Bassett was just five. Their father divorced their mother. While in high school Bassett was a spectator of John Steinbeck's play Of Mice and Men starring James Earl Jones and decided that she wanted to become an actor. She was a student at Yale University New Haven Connecticut and graduated with a bachelor's degree (1980) with a major in African American studies and a master's degree (1983) from the Yale School of Drama. Courtney B. Vance was also an actor at Yale. They were married in 1997. Qualification: B.A. Degree in African-American Studies in the year 1980. Master in Fine Arts from Yale School of Drama School.
